International Clean Up Weekend - Greenstreets NYC
October 8, 2007
Google is organizing an effort to help clean up our world, one small piece at a time. The goal is to find a local place such as a park, beach, yard or whatever and clean it up. What a fantastic idea.
According to the Google Blog:
We’ll be planning our cleanups using Google Maps and sharing our plans with friends and families, along with an invitation to help. So far, Googlers have sent in almost 100 cleanup maps and proposed plans, and have invited more than 900 of their personal contacts to help.
The global initiative will take place on October 13th-14th. Let’s all grab some friends and help clean up our environment. The closer to home the easier it will be to manage and organize. My family and I will go to one of our favorite parks in New York City - tbd - and do our part to help clean it up. Maybe we’ll even make a sign explaining what the heck we’re doing. Hopefully, some volunteers will join us.
