Backstage with Rudy
Over the past couple of years, I’ve been knee deep in the real estate industry’s Web 2.0 online scene. What the heck is Web 2.0? Quite simply, an adoption of new web technologies which makes a consumers user experience on the Internet more pleasant. Websites become easier to use, more fun, interactive and dynamic. What was once a one way conversation has now become a two way conversation between the the consumer and the real estate professional. Cool huh?
Back in 2005, I Co-Founded a real estate start up named Sellsius Real Estate with my business partner Joseph Ferrara. The initial idea was to build a real estate specific classifieds site ala Craigslist. While waiting for our machine to be built, we started blogging about real estate. And blog we did. Just google Sellsius and you’ll see the ride we’ve been on.
Since then, we’ve become a real estate blogging and technology consultants, contributing bloggers on the Inman News Blog and speakers at the 1st ever Inman Real Estate Blogger Connect in San Francisco.
This past July, we founded Blog Tour USA - a real estate documentary. Our tour lasted 35 days, 32 cities and over 10,000 miles. We traveled the nation in a corporate sponsored 25 foot RV interviewing some of the top real estate agent bloggers in the nation, CEO’s & top executives of the leading Real Estate Web 2.0 companies and consumers on the street. We got their real estate story - firsthand. What an experience. Post production on the documentary is in full swing.
This past month, we covered the prestigious RIS Media Leadership Conference in New York City as blogger press. A great honor indeed. You can find coverage of the event here and here. On October 16th, I moderated a panel called How A Blog Can Benefit You - at the 6th annual MLSLI Tech Fair in Long Island. I wrote a recap post about the event on my other blog. Below is the video of the panel.
